Community Connections
Our schools thrive through strong partnerships with the community. In this section, you'll find helpful links to important local resources, guidelines for flyer distribution, and information on how to get involved through volunteering. Whether you're a local organization looking to connect with families or a community member hoping to support our students, we welcome your engagement and support.
Saco is fortunate to have two dedicated foundations supporting our students and schools. The Aid for Saco Kids (ASK) Education Foundation provides resources beyond the regular school budget to enrich learning experiences and promote academic success for students in Pre-K through 8th grade. The Saco Education Foundation (SEF) funds innovative teaching initiatives that inspire creativity and critical thinking, while also fostering broader community support for public education. Together, these foundations help ensure that every student has access to the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.
Flyer Distribution Request
According to policy KHC - Distribution of Non-School Materials, all flyers by any outside group must be reviewed and approved by the Superintendent’s Office prior to distribution.

The link will remain the same and be updated as new information is received so be sure to bookmark this link for youth-related events.
If denied, the contact person will be notified by email.
Volunteer Application Process
The Saco School Department recognizes that community members can provide valuable services to the schools by sharing their time, talents, and experience. An effective volunteer program allows students to benefit from individual attention, provides enrichment opportunities that supplement the regular educational program, allows teachers to focus on teaching and learning by relieving them of non-teaching tasks, provides interested community members an opportunity to become directly involved with education, and strengthens the relationship between school and community.
A Volunteer Form must be completed once per year, per person.
Please complete the annual form at least two (2) weeks prior to the event you would like to attend. Processing times will be a minimum of two weeks and could be longer at the end of the school year.
All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age unless their volunteer work is part of a class, is done to fulfill a service-learning or community service requirement for graduation, or is done by a recognized student organization.
Persons interested in volunteering time or services should review the full School Board Volunteer Policy and contact the building principal.
