Transportation

A diverse group of individuals gathered in front of a yellow school bus, smiling and engaging with one another.

The Transportation Department is committed to the safe and reliable transportation of all of the students in the Saco schools. Each morning and afternoon, our drivers perform pre-trip inspections on their assigned buses/vans, ensuring that they are safe and free of defects before they leave on their routes. All of our buses are equipped with interior security cameras with audio to monitor occupant behavior. In addition, all buses are equipped with exterior cameras to record motorists who illegally pass our buses when they have stopped loading or unloading students with their red lights flashing. The pictures and video can be copied by the Transportation Department and sent to our local law enforcement agencies to use to track down the offenders.

Our Transportation Department also provides busing for all Saco students attending Thornton Academy as well as all Arundel students attending Thornton Academy Middle School (TAMS). In addition to the daily bus route for the schools of Saco, the buses also transport students/staff to field trips, athletic events, music festivals, math meets, and various other after-school activities.

Please contact the Director of Transportation, Jeanne Anderson, at 207-494-9631 ext. 7111 or Dispatch Specialist Felicia Frost at 207-494-9631 ext. 7112 with questions about bus routes, pickup/drop-off requests, or other concerns.
